My favorite restaurant during my trip to Boston. Everything: food, atmosphere, and service was exceptional. We almost didn’t make it in, as the place was packed and reservation-only. Luckily, a last-minute cancellation opened a spot for us. Hidden away down a quiet side street, the restaurant exudes a speakeasy style ambiance. The warm and inviting atmosphere blends vintage charm with modern sophistication, making the space feel both intimate and elegant. Once seated, we were taken care of by Mike, who delivered top-notch service. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine kindness truly elevated our dining experience. We started with the 18hour Cider Braised Pork Belly, which was incredibly flavorful and tender. I ordered The Mad Hatter to drink and was pleased by the smoothness of the bourbon beautifully complemented by well-balanced mixers that highlighted its flavor without overpowering it. For my main I had the Citrus Herb Crusted Halibut. It was fresh, tender, and flavorful. The sauce it was served in was rich and complimented the unique fregola sarda pasta. My spouse got the Steak Frites which was cooked to perfection. The fries were crisp, and the truffle aioli was easily the best I’ve ever had. I can't recommend 1928 Beacon Hill enough, just make sure to get a reservation.

What a great little spot in Beacon Hill. The atmosphere is very well done, giving creative cozy vibes. The menu was very solid, offering all your staple dishes but very well executed. Overall the service was good but we had to do our best to get our waiter’s attention a few times, hence the four stars. Would absolutely go back and definitely recommend making a reservation!

We tried this place because the menu looked delicious but also had more unique flavors. It's not the same old fancy food. I'm happy to say it did not disappoint! We had the tuna tartare appetizer, the pork belly appetizer, the wagyu entree, the scallops entree, and the smashed potatoes cooked in duck fat. It was honestly all amazing. The scallops were my favorite. Some of the best scallops I've ever had. The host wasn't super friendly when we got there, but she was prompt. Anthony was our server and he was excellent. Several other staff came to our table to bring food or clear plates and they were all professional. Some people were in dresses and sport coats, but it was mostly sundresses for women and nice shorts and polos for men. The ambience is lovely. Very nicely decorated. It's small but doesn't feel too tight even when all the tables are full. I highly recommend 1928 Beacon Hill for a delicious dinner out!

Really lovely place with a dark and moody theme. The decor is gorgeous. The 5 stars for food are in relation to the cocktails and not the food. We had great cocktails there but the food was mediocre. We had the jerk chicken meatballs but they were dry and not as flavorful. We also had the clam chowder and that was tasty, they have a little spicy kick to it. While I may not return for the food, the drinks were exceptional. We sat at the bar.

Started our dinner off with some drinks, our server Mike (who was amazing!!) recommended the Beatnik which I absolutely loved. I would come back for just that drink. I had the lobster gnocchi which was a great portion size and was pretty yum ! Overall had a great time, just didn’t love how close together the tables were lol

Pretty, pretty, pretty good! We went to 1928 Beacon Hill to celebrate my husband’s birthday and had a great experience. The food is delicious and worth every penny. I recommend making a reservation if you’re more than three people. Everything is made from scratch, so you need to order appetizers and mains at the same time (it’s noted on the menu). My favorites: the cauliflower with shishito peppers, the beet salad, the bolognese pasta, the 1928 burger, and the amazing potatoes. Definitely coming back!

Simply fantastic! Went for a girls dinner and had to bring my husband back for date night. Food, service, vibe.. all excellent for any type of night out. Also, as a preggo lady, I love that they have a non-alcoholic bubbly. You have to ask for it, and it would be nice if they listed it on the menu, but not a big deal that they don't.
